This is a bloodbath and no longer are we collateral damage we are financially liable for keeping this show on the road and financially liable for questioning it...as it is bound to count as un-loving speech or adversarial.

Not a WHA Vote but a Done Deal

The Dáil last night voted 71 to 58 against a motion tabled by the Rural Independent TDs, effectively quashing any chance of proper public scrutiny of the EU Migration and Asylum Pact. This move, which the Rural TDs claim is a betrayal of national sovereignty, democracy, and public policy scrutiny, starkly highlights the government’s disregard for public concerns.

Rural Independent Group Leader, Deputy Mattie Mc Grath, expressed profound disappointment at the government’s decision to conceal the truth about the consequences of the EU Migration Pact from the Irish people. Speaking from Leinster House, Mc Grath stated:

“In a calculated move to obscure the true implications of the EU Pact, the government has blocked the publication of the Attorney General’s advice, refused to conduct a financial assessment of the costs, and denied the facilitation of an open, transparent national-level public debate before the required final vote in each House of the Oireachtas.”

“This vote, supported by Fianna Fail, Fine Gael, the Green Party and many missing deputies is a stark betrayal of democracy and an erosion of our national sovereignty. It underscores the coalition’s single-minded objective: to let the open borders policy run unchecked, regardless of the concerns of the Irish electorate.”

“At a time when our government is attempting to shift blame onto the UK for our inward asylum seeker challenges, it’s baffling how they would allow decisions for immigration, asylum, and migration policy to be moved from Dublin to non-elected officials in Brussels. This decision, coupled with deliberate attempts to conceal the true facts surrounding the consequences, smacks of a cynical ploy to curry favour with EU elites. It is perhaps the greatest act of turning its back on the Irish people since independence. This is especially disheartening as it undermines our democratic principles and disregards the concerns of our citizens in communities across the country.”

Yesterday, we witnessed the government moving asylum seekers from one tent encampment in Dublin city centre to another encampment in a rural area. The only policy the government seems to have is ‘out of sight out of mind’ rather than dealing with immigration in a comprehensive and robust manner that protects our borders and is predicated on our housing and social services capacity limitations.

The government’s decision to block the transparency our group’s motion sought in the Dáil, and instead to force ahead with the EU Migration Pact, without transparency or public debate, is a betrayal of the Irish taxpayer and a blow to communities across the country who are expected to bear the brunt of the government’s illogical and detrimental immigration policies.

We condemn the government and those who failed to vote to bury transparency in the strongest terms. The only option is for the electorate to give this government a very clear message in the forthcoming local and European elections on June 7th.

Once again, it’s evident that the government is overlooking the potential costs and implications of the EU Migration Pact. It’s expecting the public to passively accept decisions on immigration, even though they are the ones shouldering the financial burden and welcoming asylum seekers into their communities. The government’s acquiescence to the Brussels elite equates to transferring control over immigration from Dublin to Brussels, leaving Irish taxpayers to cover the costs. This is alarming, particularly as we remain in the dark about the potential financial impact due to the Minister’s failure to provide a detailed breakdown. It’s worth noting that expedited processing of all asylum applications is a domestic responsibility and can be achieved independently of this Pact.

Innovation For Rescuing Ill-fated Horses

Solution letter I sent to Kilkenny council's Environment Deprtment today. Better again, we have found a home for the lot and I wrote to tell them that too. I hope to God they let them be re-homed now and avoid slaughter.

There have been several senior and central people trying to contact your department about the horses you are seizing and are concerned for their welfare and future. 

I have come up with a solution for your consideration. My idea is to try a pilot project that gets the animals out of the middle of the situation between the travellers and the ACS - animal and carcass collection service. The ACS are presently the only heavy enough, violent enough and anonymous enough group to seize traveller horses as everyone else is too afraid. Instead, we can treat the travellers with respect and propose that the horses are going to be seized anyway, as they are neglected in terms of acceptable standards of care but they will be paid a nominal figure for them. 

At the moment the ACS are being paid the 950 per horse and that is incentivising the seizure of horses and their disposal as the policy is not to impound them but get rid of them. The travellers know this and it has led to extreme violence and it is not unjustified when they know the horses are just going to be shot. The travellers don't need to be told the exact amount the council pays per horse. 

A new approach would be where the owner gets €200 for their horse (God knows, every other animal abusing operation gets compensated when they have to shut down through non compliance) and the rest goes to the people who are rehoming, be they charity or individual, to help with their feed and care. 

This payment would be made only on condition that the travellers agree (and sign an agreement) that they are passing ownership and will not seek out any contact or intimidation or snatching of horses. If there is even a fear of this down the line, all the horses will be seized again and put down at once and criminal proceedings be brought against the original traveller community - the owners will be held responsible and this will motivate them to manage each other's behaviour. 

It is a revolutionary pilot scheme (although I say so myself) that takes the ACS out of the seat of power and the incentive to kill stray and traveller horses and includes the travellers in making a positive change, where their horse trade is recognised. If it works, the change can be attached to a training, feeding and care education which travellers will have to, in future, have participated in, to keep animals. It is like how we have to have a new license to tow horses safely in a trailer, even to a riding club event.  We can stipulate that it is a new policy to protect both the community, their business, the animals and improve road safety as so many are getting hit out on the ring road.  

This first 40 horses will count as a sort of amnesty and there's no commitment on the part of the council to pay for other or future neglected animals of course. What do you think?! 

If the travellers agree to relinquishing ownership of their horses, then we have several people and charities who can take a few each and would make far better use of the remainder of that payment, (€750) in rehoming and rehabilitating them. As your only other option at the moment is killing them, please do consider the suggestion. 

It could also have a longer beneficial impact as I have outlined, defusing the violence and fear between gardai, ACS, travellers and proper re-homers and rescue routes. Fairness could win out and even some integration and education.

The most westerly point of Europe is where we will finally regroup on the 26th September to coincide with the US Peace Conference. Valentia is always the place to meet for any reason but this time it is reinforced by its historic transatlantic cable and the tying together of the European Unity Caravan that we are a part of here and the Caravan in the States. I prefer the idea of a train and entrainment as the most powerful method we have for change and unity. In the States, they see caravan as in keeping with healing all the wounded places, indigenous places and the millions of displaced people around the globe. And Rumi, who said 'ours is not a caravan of despair'. So call it what you will, please get in touch if you want to be involved.

What is my part in proceedings? I have been entrusted with the heart stone for the journey. Many people might not understand the significance of the heart or of a stone so maybe that’s why I’ve got it. Other people have other skills. I can’t wait and after a wonderful conference call, incorporating several continents this morning, I can feel the energy build already!!

Why Do Councils Delight In The Death of Horses?

'It's a waste of animals' lives': A new film looks at why 2,000 horses are killed by Irish councils every year

Is it possible that while investigating the situation, they didn't spot it's not a waste of life at all for one party, it's direct exploitation; someone is cashing in on the collection of loose horses and their 'disposal' for councils and then again will get a good price at the carcass stage too. 

The ACS are the carcass collection company who are the firm who have the major national contracts for 'horse control' and who the guardai call at first sight of a loose horse. At 950 euro of tax-payers' money a pop, for coming out to collect each horse - a figure that every other rescue or even horse owner could work miracles with - they just keep that. 

The ACS registered business address is in Riga, Latvia - home of the biggest animal body parts factory in Europe and is a handy destination for the slaughtered horses too. They don't have to take them to a factory to be killed in Ireland first, the not even slightly glorified knackers lorry drivers carry a gun. That way, they can save time and money and the horse can already be considered a 'fallen animal' and they well get more public funding and a thank you from the councils, for disposing of the bodies.

Then of course there is an explicit policy by councils now, which we are all upset about (especially when councils came down so heavily on no-kill pet shelters and threatened not to give them their measly 5-20k a year support, if shelters didn't agree to kill animals not re-homed in 6 weeks) So the councils' policy is to NOT look for owners, re-home or keep horses in a pound even over night, so old or new owners could be found. This is literally not only 'a license to kill' but incentivised killing and big, big business. The article says that horses are kept five days in a pound and release fee is 700 plus more each day held. I know for definite of horses, microchipped, not on the road, had owners, who had passports and several of the horses were in foal were seized and were dead within the few hours, the owners were granted the right to check them and arrange for them to be brought home.

The moral of the story is, next time you see a horse out - don't call the guards, try and usher him or her in somewhere safe and call a rescue like my lovely horse or post a photo here and somebody good and decent and competent will respond....very different from the council, guards and ACS classic combo.

Minister's Letter saying Irish Boats Clearing The Sea

I was very heartened to receive this letter confirming that not only have they started but 100% of Irish trawlers and other fishing vessels will be participating in the ocean clean up by the end of this year!!!

I refer to your recent email to Minister Michael Creed dated 8 July 2019 concerning a solution to plastic pollution.

In January this year, Minister Creed launched the Clean Oceans Initiative to address the serious issue of marine plastic pollution. Irish fishing vessels are towing nets through the waters around our coast on a daily basis and often find debris, including waste plastics, when the nets are hauled. The Minister has set a target for 100% Irish trawlers to participate in this initiative by 31 December 2019 by recovering waste plastics and discarded fishing nets from our marine waters. Bord lascaigh Mhara (BilvI) is leading the initiative. 12 of Ireland's busiest ports are participating and over 81 tonnes of marine litter has been collected over the past 6 months. 9 tonnes of nets have also been collected for recycling by BIM's mobile shredder, the 'Green Machine'. The Minister is keen to see the participation target achieved this year and is confident our fishing industry will rise to the challenge. For more information please

Along with our national measures, a new directive targeting fishing gear containing plastic has been introduced by the EU Commission which aims to reduce the impact of fishing gear containing plastic on the environment and human health; promote the transition to a circular economy; and foster innovative business models, products and materials. The Department of Communications, Climate Action, and the Environment may be able to provide you with further information in relation to its implementation.

Original Post - "Let's Be The Generation That Started The Clean Up"

This is the brilliant idea of the day. I sent the following letter to the Environment Department, Food and Marine ministers and Kerry Co. Council. We have the Wherewithal to clean up the ocean.

I discovered an equation. 

Stop using chemicals and collect all the plastic, starting NOW = The Earth completely recovers in 7 years

...It's like smoking. It's like the Organic Council found. All species and systems will bounce back.

And that is four years ahead of our 2030 carbon emissions target that the government was thinking of just trying to pay off - for 65 billion or million or squillion rather than address. But we can be Generation Y, Why? Because we made the mess in the first place and we have what it takes and Ireland can lead the way in it.

We keep hearing how the massive platform of plastic is getting closer to Ireland. The Skelligs are only 10 miles off Valentia. However we have the solution right there. There is a fleet of fishing boats and not one working fisherman on the island. There are expert search and rescue and cliff rescue teams. There is an ecologically driven diving school and a wildlife rescue team. Basically, Valentia has everything needed to go out and scrape up the plastic. Do not make them tender for a project or anything long-winded like that, just approach them to put together a plan. 

The factory trawlers could re-commissioned to take away 15,000 tonnes of the plastic at a time, to wherever there is a successful recycling plant that does not emit further pollution. There have been some miraculous systems invented. We could build one here but I think our real strength is that we could roll out the clean up approach all along the coast and then help other countries. The coastal communities are all skilled and unemployed and have watched their livelihoods and environment degrade over 20 years, with sonic blasting mapping and drilling, plastic pollution, agricultural run-off and sewage and the aforementioned factory trawlers.

But we have the solution and let's just do it. We are the second country to declare a climate emergency. Sea life and biodiversity are things we still know about. There is evidence that algae in the sea provides 40% of our oxygen. We can be the ones to instigate the clean up before the whole thing becomes a dead zone. 

I know that Ireland might not have created all that rubbish. I have seen pictures of Norway where they are very conscientious about their environment but it just gets washed up via currents, from other countries. We could employ brilliantly the whole country on such an important mission that has to happen now. Don't wait for some other country to think of it. 

The invention mentioned below is good but Australia has such a long coast of its own, they couldn't tackle it, where as we can. People with experience and skill of the sea can actively harvest the waste and rescue the seabirds and remaining fish and dolphins. Plus we are responsible for the massive amount of fishing nets that make up 40% of the dangerous waste.

Letter to TDs requesting help with Two-tier Council Structure and its Animal Welfare Implications

The following letter has also been responded to with a promise of raising this matter with the Minister, before the Dog Pound tenders are written again.  

Dear TD,
Thank you very much for your reply. I know you must constantly receive information about many pressing issues. Thank you for keeping the fate of the animals in mind and defending them in the Dail discussion last week.

The most serious threat to both the animals and the environment are the county council executives. There is a two tier system where the elected representatives have no say and the permanent staff share the money amongst their friends. 

In Kilkenny, we really need your help at once as the council executive are refusing to take out the clause in the public dog pound tender that says that applicants must have ‘two similar contracts’. This is even when it was requested, by their own welfare committee on the dog pound. The council executive are writing the tender again this month and this clause would exclude every animal welfare organization from applying. Last time, two years ago, we were led to think that ‘similar contracts’ meant animal care contracts but actually they meant financial public contracts. Please put pressure on Kilkenny Council before the writing, this time, to take the clause out. If they could make the money available to an animal not-for-profit organization, it would be more in alignment with law that says the pounds should be with a ‘fitting person’ and it would build a network of support to collect dogs, care for them and rehome them (and horses for that matter), in connection with the other local shelters – thereby extending the period where dog’s owners might be able to find them or for the animals to recover their dignity sufficiently and health to be rehomed.    

The council executive has misspent a huge amount of money in Kilkenny alone, on building the ill-conceived and environmentally damaging Central Access Scheme bridge, instead of finishing the ring road. The majority of the councilors were elected on their being against the Scheme but found they had no influence on the council executive’s plan. The council executive also gave the massive public contract for the dog pound to a ruthless and exploitative company, to top up on the council’s ongoing payments to them for the seizure and disposal of horses (I gather approximately a million has been spent annually on this practice that benefits no animals or society). There was a parallel expensive ecocide road plan in Ennis County Council too and the major public tender for the dog pound going to the same firm. So this is happening country wide.

Elected representatives were kept in the dark and had no power at all even once they were made aware, by concerned citizens. Elected councillors were not even informed of the €248,000 dog shelter tender coming up last time. I gather that they are informed of none of the public tenders. Not one elected representative was, even later, allowed to see the document nor the applications. €100,000 of the contract comes from Carlow Council (as it is the Carlow/Kilkenny dog pound) and none of the executive or elected representatives saw it there either, or were involved or approved of the decision on who it was given to.

The Environment department permanent staff (Carol McCarthy was the deciding engineer in that case) arranged to give it to the Animal Collection Service – a private firm registered in Latvia with no Irish office, no website even, no welfare or rehoming policy and no named staff. They were originally formed to collect and dispose of fallen animals, with no animal welfare interest or experience. The Kilkenny Environment office lied in writing to the other applicants and said ‘The Animal Care Society, Cork’ had won the contract. The council executive assumed that no one would ever find out. The only reason it was discovered was that a congratulations letter was sent to the Animal Care Society, including the offer of volunteers to help run the pound. They replied, shocked, that they had never even heard of the contract and if it was the ACS who got the contract they would never want to be in any way associated with them.

100% of the elected representatives were shocked and opposed the decision but could do nothing. They insisted on discussing it in Chambers and a dog pound committee was formed (essentially the person who sets up a committee gets an extra €7,000 for setting up a committee and a few other protective party-liners were allowed on it and one independent councillor, a different one allowed for the second six months. The only welfare group allowed on it was someone from a rescue in Galway who could not cause them too many problems as she was so far away. The Dog Trust were involved but they only have the time to collect the over flow of dogs as best they can, for rehoming.

Even after the public outcry, the council executive refused to withdraw the contract and the ACS was only stopped when they themselves withdrew, following a damning article in a national paper on their 100% kill rate of seized stray horses and their being registered in Latvia, Riga, where the animal body parts factory is, where the BSE came in from a couple of years ago.They were obviously concerned that their wider operation would be exposed if they stayed inolved in the tender process.

Apart from the 'similar contracts' clause there were three other problems with the tender. The second area of non compliance was that of ‘enforcement’. The ability and efficiency to drive around and collect stray dogs, even aggressive, sick or defensive pregnant ones is part of the work for the charities anyway so it would be no problem.

Thirdly, the county's Environment Department (looking after the tender) refused to tell applicants whether the staff should be kept on or could be re-interviewed or replaced by the tenderer's own staff. Later it turned out that the ACS would be allowed to do what they want with their own team but any other applicants would be expected to work with the existing staff. What needs to happen is that the new management should be able to recruit their own staff. The existing wardens have their own ethos, which is completely control legislation orientated. They have relationships with the county vets, local farmers and collection services (all who benefit from putting dogs to sleep) and currently have the law on their side. Any group who gets that amount of public funding to run the pound must be able to at least influence the way the wardens work to be in keeping with a shift in practices for the pound and that the staff work together as a team.

 

Fourthly, the tender contract on the public tender website was for between €450,000 and €650,000. That meant every applicant put in a tender towards the lower of these figures. Only the ACS knew that the councils only had €248,000 and so they put in the only reasonable management plan, close to the money actually available. This is illegal to start with, that the figure should be intentionally wrong. It is inappropriate to give the money to a company who will make up the difference they need by selling dogs on for research or putting them to sleep and charging again for their disposal.

There is a good animal rescue organization might be willing to tender again, that is ASH, who have a great track record of care and rehoming and have managed hundreds of dogs and other animals very successfully. They will not go through all the hard work of putting in the tender if the clause is still there and automatically excludes them. The only other possibility is that the ISPCA keep the management of the pound but they were disturbed by the policies in place, the inability to prosecute the abusers, neglecters, puppy farmers, other farmers and greyhound racing owners for their endless surrender of dogs and insistence that their dogs are put down. At the moment no criminals are being prosecuted or fined and that leaves the cost of every casualty completely with the charity. This system could be easily adjusted now while the tenders are about to be written but the changes required are:

1. 'Two similar contracts' clause to be taken out

2. An animal welfare organization with good track record explicitly required to receive the pound contracts

3. The enforcement clause removed, as that is a given via the legislation in place.

4. The actual amount of public money available clearly stated

5. Clarification as to whether the staff must be retained or not and if they must, what their wages are.

I am sorry it is a long and complicated scenario but we would really like help with this before the situation deteriorates like it did last time the tender process took place. There was 11,000 signatures on a petition then, to persuade the council to withdraw the contract from the ACS. It did not have any impact on the council decision but we also established a good network of animal advocates. All the shelters, rescues, charities, volunteers, fundraisers would work together, if the public money went to a welfare group. I am a part of one not for profit advocacy groups that went for the tender last time.

I would be glad to support ASH or the ISPCA but mainly I would be grateful to not have to fend off another unscrupulous group planning to further exploit the animals. Just because they may not be called Four Seasons - trading as ACS this time, doesn't mean they are not the same characters masquerading under another name. The directors are associated with Brinks and Securicor. They have links to research and a German charity exporting horses from Ireland. There is nothing at all we can do about them unless we categorically say that public contracts must go to accountable, ethical companies. Could it be asked, in the Dail, that there be criteria? For example that all public money be paid to responsible Irish Companies with an expertise and good reputation, in the field for which they are applying to participate? And also to rethink the county council structure so that county executive must involve and heed the elected representatives and who they represent.

How to survive Valentia without moving there permanently

I would love to see other ways of life and yet see them from here - if you see what I mean - rather than land myself in the middle of India or Spain and try and grasp what's going on. Or Ireland for that matter. I got a chance at a friend's party in Westport last Saturday. It feels like a lifetime ago but there were some interesting people there. Not one of them minded where they went next and when. One guy from Spain who had just been to climate camp in Tyrone. Why do I always think of Snatch when I hear that county? I think its Tyrone who's hopeless but is supposed to be driving the getaway car. Anyway, there was also a couple from England and France who'd been travelling together for a couple of years. They really got on well and were the personification of aliveness and relaxation. They were only about twenty but I learnt a thing or two. Like 4 breaths per minute is really plenty.

Sort of as a result, I've decided to concentrate on making this place a retreat centre, keep it cheap and let people come and wind down and be well however they want to. Just offer the space. Energy healing, silence, music, sleep, food, outings and a help exchange to keep the house, woods and stream maintained can all be options. Wax on, wax off as they say in the Karate Kid is a totally valid spiritual practice! God knows, I've been two days solidly doing it; painting my windows in the sunshine.

After the party, I was just coming back to Kilkenny to a clearing and suddenly it wasn't happening so I was free again. I found myself driving south listening almost exclusively to Bruce Springsteen Tunnel of Love and The River albums. It did occur to me that only the boss really can refer to people as Baby and to himself as Baby too in certain circumstances. I just couldn't see it through. A friend of mine did once but it was nipped in the bud! Maybe one needs the drawl. I can imagine obviously calling a baby Baby but then once one is in charge of a baby one should really know its real name, no? Anyway, at the moment I'm not, so it hasn't cropped up. But I have been thinking I'd like a star baby since the Inter galactic conference. How would you know what you're getting though? I suppose you hope for the best and then can be happily surprised if it starts to show very mild super powers. So, to be absolutely sure how much I love Valentia, I went down to the island again.

So many people are missing parents already it was a moving time to see mine. To be precise, to be surfing with my Dad and Mum and all my family on St Finians for two days. My Dad is probably 82 this year and I can't think of anything I love more than looking across and finding him on the same wave. My sister's more dangerous as she makes me laugh and then I can swallow water and drowning becomes imminent. Couldn't go under this time though, as there were so many children to count and make sure they hadn't been dragged out on the rip tide. My brother's children were there too and other friends. People getting married and people addicted to chocolate and people who'd rather be on Glanleam Beach but fitted it in before dawn or after dark so as not to disrupt the wider plans.

I heard there was a derelict hotel and airport on Reenroe Beach nearby and hit on the idea of restoring it with fractal energy and sacred geometry and making that my centre. It was a right red herring once I saw it. I'd be clearing for years the vibrations there and having back to back torturous Wuthering Heights moments on the windy cliffs. Probably not make it. So I gave the lads a lift to the ferry in Cork and came home. Is it ok to jack it all in and just float around in the sea all day? I have reached a temporary compromise and am swimming a mile in the gym every day. 76 lengths and for each length I acknowledge the equivalent dimension and melt back in to reasonableness and productiveness for the rest of the day. I have also worked out 'You are an ocean wave my love' or whatever its called on guitar.

Thanks to Ivan Kelly for the african art detail in my room, Phil Blackman for the cranial osteopathy that has got me back to centred, Stef for the beautiful bird table and Eric Dowsett and co for the clearing when I was knackered. Its all back on with life now and I intend to sing my soul mate in - which is an interesting idea I got from the film Australia. Think I might get some lessons in or it might just have the opposite effect!

We’re back in County Kilkenny for the moment, pretty delighted with progress. We’ve been trying to review what we actually did, what we’ve made so far and what will happen next.

The plan was to raise money for the welfare charities in each county and to generate extra funds by doing the healing work for who ever was up for it.

It turned out everyone was up for it and made us very welcome. Although, as someone pointed out, who wouldn’t be if you just show up and say I’ll help you with whatever you, your family and business are going through?! There was no need to overcome any fear or even acknowledge there’s anything going on! What came up for me was that I was hoping that people would make a donation in exchange for the work. What actually happened was that after sometimes ten hours of personal clearing, people didn’t end up giving even a fiver. Plus we ended up saying endless thank you’s for giving us the use of a field for the horses. It made us laugh eventually as we realized that as we’re not great earners at home, we were never going to rake it in for the charities. All the money in the charity account so far is from about 8 max generous people. We don’t know what to make of that!

The way we approached healing the energy of the country was:
I’d start with the county - many square miles - and clear the environmental, historical, financial and health issues. To be concise, which is not my speciality, I phrased this ‘chaos to clarity’, ‘conflict to peace’ and ‘lack to abundance’ Goodness only knows what the repercussions of the work will be. Hopefully widespread and miraculous.

Then we also did some healing for whatever animals we met. These were also grouped into specific areas - traumatic memories, predispositions to illness and re-alignment which seemed to wrap up the past, future and present. Sometimes we just cleared pain or whatever the animal was blatantly dealing with. Sometimes there were umpteen animals. The most was 70 horses in one day at the IHWT, then clearing for all the staff individually and the premises, including a depressing derelict house. But there were all the battle sites, with thousands of spirits to clear and many cultural histories, including Newgrange. The spectrum of time we acknowledged went back as far as 385 million years ago, when tetrapods first walked out of the sea and breathed air as opposed to oxygenated water. Pretty epic, they looked to all intents and purposes like crocodiles but not quite so aerodynamic. More meandering than loitering dangerously, I’d say, from the drawings. The fossils are in situ on Valentia Island, which itself they reckon was on the equator at the time. Presumably that means we were all on the equator at the time. How lovely would that be?

There were so many people and spirits to clear, it got a bit mad at times. There would be a clearing arama, then five minutes pause in the lorry and then an unrefusable invite to dinner...which slightly meant to me another 3 hours clearing for me.

Suffice to say, we made our way home, completely shattered, needing to process the vast amount of information that had passed through my system. I lost my voice and coughed myself to exhaustion. Susi lost her livelihood and another set of challenges.

Strangely, it was the tetrapaks that sent me packing again. Dairy ones, meaty ones, bird carrying ones.

After I'd been holding a space for resolution to take place in the bigger picture of Nationwide, I came back to find the smaller picture had gone downhill bigtime! An animal loving, hard liquor drinking person with a possible eating disorder had moved into Harmony Hall. . . and surely there’s only room for one of those in any household.

After sorting through the remains of many chicken dinners and other debri in the recycling and up and down stairs, I at last got the place back and replaced the smell of TCP and cigarettes and litter trays with all the lovely incense and candles I’ve been given down the years, for exactly this type of emergency it turns out!

To really recover, I headed for Kerry again for three days amongst lovely people, old friends (some cross over there) and family (some cross overs there as well)! Instead of clearing, I really recommend surfing and swimming and re-surfacing in a supported environment. This can be beautiful, bedecked with montbretia, dinghys and views that drag one’s perspective from the immediate to the eternal. . .

Talking of which,
I went to a conference on extra terrestrial engagement with human beings. The disclosure of all the evidence is imminent, in fact already happening. The likelihood is that they have stepped in at different times in history. I have had one sighting myself, when the planet Nabiru was in view, a couple of years ago and am also very interested in crop circles. Once or twice, when I have had decent internet reception, I have gone on the Lucy Pringle website and downloaded a recent one and sleep with the image under my pillow. Try it some time! Maybe I shouldn’t mention some of these interests and practices but anything I can do to raise awareness and activate extra brain cells and faculties, dammit I’ll do it!

Some people are interested in 2012 and think the evolution of consciousness will peak then. One thing I heard is that there may be a supernova - which I think is an explosion at the core of a planet. The way to survive this is to let go of your attachment to the way things are (shouldn’t be too difficult as I haven't heard anyone totally pleased with how things are recently! but I mean really let go of your ideas on reality. Like, imagine looking out the window and seeing a caleidescope of colours rather than your usual landscape) and learn how to get into a tetra hydral stance and hold it for upwards of three hours. I think martial arts training is the way to go for this. Michael Rice might help, he’s a black belt many dan in Karate and coincidentally the architect of this place. If I have any easier survival tips though, I will report back. Maybe we should all meditate at once on what’s in store for us. If we concentrate hard enough, we might achieve a subtle shift of the earth on its axis, just enough to get us back on the equator again. Growing avocados and apricots would be great. I came back to just one solitary sunflower and 82 black currants. Self sufficiency is going to take a bit more practice I think!

So, in the meantime, if you have friends with disturbed houses or histories or any other trouble, inner or outer, please let me know as I’m looking for work and, after that trip, I would say that I am ready for anything. Any problems or illness will be a tea party to heal after what I’ve witnessed and Windy’s carried me through...and Susi of course. I was on energetic duty and she was on practicalities. Now we’ve actually done it, she’s hoping that more people will make a donation to the cause and we can divide up the winnings in September, so they can do some good.

Also for pre-shaping a 2nd set of shoes for the trip and pins for slippery terrain - a very generous donation. Don't even get me started on Ivan for helping me keep Windy in one piece, James and Kate Powell for the lovely grazing and slopes for practicing our cross country canter on. Much appreciation to Lady Jane Alexander for casting her expert iridology eye over Rosie and Windy yesterday. There was not a stress line in sight. It was unheard of, she said, to find an eye so clear! All their organs are in perfect order. On her advice, we've got cortaflex for them both now to boost the joints in their hind quarters. We have had some gorgeous rides around these village roads.

Home away from home
Lots of love and gratitude to everyone who has invited us to stay. Its been amazing. We're also looking forward to meeting everyone at the Sligo Riding Club tomorrow. In the hope of donations and also because I always do, we will be clearing all the horses we meet. I hear there will also be a beloved great dane. The next day we'll hopefully get to brilliant Sophia in Westport. She has got us official authorization to fundraise all day Saturday in the carpark at the foot of Crogh Patrick...this might seem like a remote spot but there are to be 20,000 people there this weekend for a pilgrimage. We just might do well...or find God..or both!

Circulate, don't isolate!

The number one guiding principle this summer is circulate, don't isolate.

Last friday I was in RTE Studio One getting genned up on how to record a radio documentary. Everyone was very excited by the use of sounds and building images and evoking feelings and all that. I heard some amazing ones about a girl with an autistic brother, the thirst and danger for mexicans crossing the desert to get in to the US and the dilemma of mice moving into one's house in winter! I came away, very hopeful that our application for use of their equipment will be one of the winning ones.

We will circumnavigate the 32 counties anti clockwise and I hope to interview everyone we meet on our way, thereby building a much wider conscious community. I always call it a conscious community but it might be better to call it a kind community or a compassionate community. There are many good people around, who care about life in all its silky, furry, feathered and foliaged forms but they haven't been so far united. Most of the decisions are made by large industry with money as a goal or individuals, in fear that they will not have enough for themselves, who are neglecting their animals and the environment and keeping all sorts of conflict going.

On the trip, we hope to clear some of this fear. Current clearings we have lined up are a sinister looking derelict castle in the Burren and a beautiful care home in Kildare. We will also be in the North for a week, historically, of great conflict - 12th to the 16th July... another opportunity for great energetic healing if we can hold a space for it (and not get carted off by mistake)! There are already three houses lined up to clear of geopathic stress - one manifesting in the family as symptoms of Parkinsons, one as grief and in another household as night terrors or sleeplessness (on a good night!)

So far, we will visit a visionary GP in Carlow Town; a Western Trail Riding Centre in Portlaoise; White Thorn Healing - an equine therapeutic holiday centre in Sligo, and the IHWT in Wicklow- who rehabilitate retired race horses. Both Rosie and Windy are technically retired race horses, although Windy was always meant for the grace of dressage! We intend to compete somewhere along the line and do a little fundraising at the show. The Glasrai Health Food Shop in Gowran is going to give us a vegan hamper so we won't go hungry for the first week and Hemp and Things, the health food shop in Cahirciveen, Kerry has also promised us some ingredients. We will have to live off fresh air in between times but I have always been interested in becoming a breatharian.

Our route is loosely from Kilkenny, Carlow, Portlaoise, Wicklow, Dublin, Leitrim, Navan, Cavan, Monaghan, Tyrone, Down, Derry, Donegal, Sligo, Mayo, Galway, Clare, Connemara, Kerry, Cork. Please let us know of anyone who might let us stay in during the Cork, Wexford, Waterford leg of the journey in August. Thank you very much for your support so far. We have also been in touch with Nationwide and South East Radio and done a Profile with Aisling Hurley for the Kilkenny Reporter yesterday, so hopefully word will get around and some good'll come of it all!

There are two quizzes already set up - one in the Woodenbridge Hotel, Arklow, Co. Wicklow on the 9th July and one on Valentia Island, in the Royal, on the 28th July. Please let people know to come or make a donation or something to make them a good occasion.

The main summer drumming session is happening here a week on Saturday 26th at noon.

I will also be running a residential clearing workshop again on Valentia from the 27th to the 30th July if any committed energy workers want to get away to paradise for more inspiration.

Two women and their horses go on tour to raise funds for the ISPCA and PAWS
Fancy having your property and heart cleansed from environmental energy and its adverse effects while raising money for the animal charities?
Two women, Frances Micklem and Susi Allen are taking their horses around the highways and by-ways of the country from July 4, for two months, in a bid to help humans and animals.
Ms Micklem, a healer, is undertaking the tour because she believes that “People all over Ireland are finding ways to live an integrated life. If we can connect with these people in person and through the documentary we hope to do, there is huge potential to create a wave of energy and interest in animal welfare, peace and nature. Everything's connected and animals have an essential role in every healing process as far as I can see."

If lots of people pass through your building, whether it is a business or home, it would be advisable to have your space cleared and ideally learn how to keep it clear.
Ms Micklem clears environmental energy and its adverse effects. She also clears the human history of a place.
“You would be amazed how many memories are stored in a house or even a field. For example, if the previous couple that owned your house separated, it is very likely that your relationship will break down. We are literally stepping in and out of other peoples’ shoes,” she added.
The third part of the process is to clear the metals and other toxins in the ground and people. This often includes mercury poisoning, a residual from a lifetime of mercury fillings. It will also address illness. Cancer has been linked to people living in buildings founded on granite.

National Geopathic Stress and the Weight of History

It has been a dream for some time to clear the energy of the whole country. I get bookings to go and clear houses. It may be a health problem, sleeplessness, bad luck or a frightening feeling or behaviour in children that instigates calling me in. I follow new directions to get there each time but very often find myself only half a mile or so from another place I've worked. Ireland is literally a spider's web of dynamics. There are houses where people have died under mysterious circumstances. Houses where every couple that has lived there has broken up. Then there are famine walls and mass paths carrying memories of hardship. Nearly every family has been touched by love, betrayal, abuse and addiction - in many combinations. The country's history of oppression and resistance holds these weighty attachments in place for generation after generation. Resistance is futile! Because whatever we resist persists. If we dig deeper, the granite and the immense amount of water that washes around, under and over the island, further embed these dynamics. What we have created externally is a recession and a chaotic climate to send us further in to fear and away from change and creativity and transformation. Don't fall for it if possible.

I was asking myself the other day what exactly was I doing, living here so long. I got the answer that it was a karmic journey. Payback time! So I've decided to go on that journey consciously. This July 4th, Independence Day in the States, I'll set off from Kilkenny on Windy and touch on every county. I think between us all we can release the merry go round of unconscious suffering nation wide. Farms and old buildings and grim local history will hopefully be acknowledged and I would welcome the chance in each place to work with other horses and people. Susi Allen - a key person in the conscious community here at this stage - put me up to it! Its her journey for another reason, which is that we will be raising money for the ISPCA animal welfare groups at the same time. She started a dedicated blog for it called Walkabout. I don't want to let her down but it is fantastically funny that she hasn't quite mastered putting 'New Posts' on the blog, only making 'Comments'! Technology is such a learning curve.
